This is officially called the Hannari Tofu Christmas Plush Santa Yellow Yuzu. I'll just call it Santa Hannari Tofu. Hannari Tofus are plush of, you guessed it, tofus. Again, only Japan would think of something like this, to make an unpopular food into something that's super kawaii and fluffy. They come in a huge variety of colours and styles. I first learned about this little guy back in 2008 or 2009. I had my eye on one for a long time and when I finally decided to get one, Alex confessed that he bought two of them for me for Christmas (cue: AWWWWWWWWW!). They're yellow and green and I still have them.
My precious tofus + dumplings. Excuse the bad picture, this is before I knew what lighting was.
Next is Pusheen the fatass cat. It's basically an obese grey cat that does really cute things. Its creators made adorable gifs and comics of it. There's also many other types of Pusheen merchandise such as necklaces, t-shirts, rings, etc. You can view more of Pusheen here.
I'm not a cat person but I can't resist this!
The next following items, I thought I was done obsessing over. But apparently not since all I had to do was check to see if there were newer items in stock and the obsession burst from me again. Of course, I'm talking about ARPAKASSOS!!! I bought so many of these because of my obsession with them a few months ago and I thought that I had fulfilled it and it was time to move onto something else but no. These are the ones that made it on my list;
Because every girl needs to put her change in kawaii arpakassos. Love the plain white and brown ones.
Scottish Arpakassos! Just kidding, they just have the argyle pattern. I want the beige and the white ones.
Next up are the GIANT arpakassos. They're not that giant but they're pretty big, ranging between 30 cm to 45 cm in height.
These are 30 cm in height I believe. Definitely want the brown or the white with a flower on its head.
These would definitely be my first choice big arpakasso plushes but they're more expensive. They're also huge (40 cm in height). Any of them would be great!
The final two items are from San-X, the ingenius Japanese company that specializes in making kawaii characters. They made a relatively new line called Sentimental Circus. Not really sure what the story is behind it, but it's a circus and there's all these cute (and some of them creepy) creatures that perform for the circus.
This is Rio the lion. Isn't he cute? Want this plush but I can only find a 9" one that's $30 and I don't want one that big or that expensive.
This is Shappo, the ringmaster! I have no idea what he's supposed to be...a rabbit?
So there you have it, my kawaii wishlist (so far). Santa, bring me these kawaii items!
