all i want for christmas is.....all these

I know, I know...I suck. It's been well over a month since my previous update and I don't have any reason other than usual ones, you know them all by heart now.

Since it's mid-December, I think it'd be appropriate to make a Christmas list detailing all the things I don't need and want (and because I haven't actually had time to take pictures of the kawaii I've collected over the months).

I present to you, Richelle's 2013 Christmas List.

new san-x characters - Toromi, Nyanpuku, Sumikkogurashi

For those of you who don't know yet, San-x is releasing a few new characters! And let me tell you, they're really kawaii! I'm so excited for their merchandise to be officially released so that I can spend all my money on these little babies!

I think the last new character that was introduced was that chocolate eating bear, Chocopa, who I'm not a fan of. Before that was Piggy Girl, who I didn't really like either, except for this one plush of her that I had to buy because she looked really cute holding her mouse friend. I'll have to take a picture of that soon...

Without further ado, here are the 3 newest kawaii additions to the San-x family!

Toromi the French Bulldog Puppy!

Isn't he fantastic? Almost cuter than Obi (close but not quite). I almost died when I saw this little guy pop up as an upcoming character. Ok, I haven't really told anyone this, but I have a secret love affair with French bulldogs and pugs, they're so funny looking, it's CUTE! Yup, he's on my wishlist x 100.

Obi, transformed into a white French bulldog. I also renamed him Toromi.

I can definitely imagine this character having a lot of personality, playful and probably more than a little mischievous. Maybe it's because I'm such a dog person and I can definitely attest to dogs each having their own personality, or maybe it's because I'm totally smitten by my own dog, Obi, and I'm projecting his character into this animated rascal, who knows.

All I know is, I'm buying a plush of Toromi and probably some other items too! I have my heart set on the smaller plush and probably a memo pad but I'm not sure if I should get a pencil case or makeup pouch. Maybe both, treat myself ;).

If they sold Toromi's siblings' merchandise, I'd buy them too.

Here are the pictures of the merchandise of Toromi that San-x has lined up for release. These items are supposed to be released in October which means that they're probably going to be available on this side of the world in November.

Stationary Items.

Pouches.

And of course, the plush!

Plush keychain, ID holder and coin purse.

Next is another household pet but one that I'm not crazy about at all, a cat. But I like this cat! His name's Nyanpuku and he's a fat Maneki-neko looking cat. Maneki-neko are also known as the beckoning cat since they're supposed to bring good fortune for shop owners. I bought one for my kawaii business and one for my personal life which I mentioned in this post.

Nyanpuku, the cat king of lard.

I'm not sure if he's actually an animated Maneki-neko or just a cat that looks like a Maneki-neko. Either way, since he's so huge, he's probably a lot of good luck! Look at him, he's almost perfectly spherical!

Probably a comic about how he's so fat and round.

Apparently, there's an angel cat and a pirate cat too.

Onward with the merchandise!

Awww, so adorable!

Like with Toromi, I've decided that I'm going to get the plush and the memo pad. But I'm going to get the smaller plush because I think it looks better than the large one, it's more spherical and cute. I also love the heart on its butt.

And last, but definitely not least, is a bunch of characters called Sumikkogurashi. They are a group of dejected looking little animals made up of a polar bear, platypus (I think), a cat and a fried pork cutlet. Yes, a fried pork cutlet.

I know right?

Sumikkogurashi

Here's are the Sumikkogurashi, all stacked up onto each other. I don't know what are the two smaller ones, they look like beans but I don't think that's what they are. But then again, if they made a pork cutlet, beans are entirely possible too. Guess which one is the fried pork.

Small Sumikkogurashi plush.

Bigger plush. The pork is the second from the right.

Must have tote.

They're all cute but I don't like the pork cutlet too much (even if it is a kawaii pork cutlet). The platypus (or kappa, it just hit me that it could be a kappa) and the polar bear are the two cutest ones. I wonder what's the story behind Sumikkogurashi, if anyone knows, don't hesitate to tell me!

Surprisingly, I don't think I'm going to buy the plushes from this collection but I will be buying items that I don't normally buy for kawaii characters such as memos, pencils and stickers. Definitely a pencil case, makeup pouch or wallet though, I love the designs on them. But all this is still up in the air, so when it comes to finally making the purchase, I can easily just change my mind and end up buying the plushes.

The whole time I've been trying to make this post, Obi has been glued to me and his face was on on my keyboard, making my progress super slow. But because he's so damn cute and loveable, I didn't have the heart to push him off me.

Like my super cool pink doggy PJ pants?

It's a good thing I started working again because I'm going to be spending all my money on these San-x goodies. Screw clothes and CMA school, I'm going to stockpile my future with kawaii!

So kawaii lovers, which character is your favourite? Are you going to be buying anything?

i want this, and that and that too...(also selling rilakkuma iphone case)

I'm back from Cuba and while I should make a post about my awesome trip, I have to make to this one first. I've been wanting to make an updated post about my kawaii wishlist (old one can be found here) and I think it's about time that I did.

Ok, so the first item on the list is this super duper uber kawaii Tuxedo Sam plush. I've always loved Tuxedo Sam because who doesn't like an adorable penguin in a tuxedo!? He's got more class than most of the male population because he wears a TUXEDO! That's right, boys, you want class, wear a tuxedo. That's what real men do.

GAAAAAAAAH!!!! SO CUTE!!!

There's a tragic story that comes with his adorable Tuxedo Sam plush. My sister bought hers in Alberta where she's currently living and she came to visit during the summer (she's still here). She brought this too cute penguin with her and I fell in love with it. I've been plotting so many ways to steal it from her (replace it with a real blue penguin, pretend that Obi tore it apart, hope that she'll forget it when she leaves...etc) but none of them worked yet.

Anyway, so we went to Toronto about two weeks ago and I actually saw this EXTREMELY DESIRABLE plush for only $20! BUT I DIDN'T BUY IT!!!!! I had spent a lot of money on those Maneki-nekos and didn't want to spend any more money. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Ever since then, I've been in Regretsville crying and moaning over that plush. It doesn't help that my sister brought Tuxedo Sam to Cuba and it was constantly in my face (since our beds were right next to each other).

Next is another Tuxedo Sam plush but I actually ended up buying this one! I had found it on ebay and it was soooo cute but it was a bid (I hate bidding, I'd rather pay the highest price than have to deal with the stress of trying to win an item). There was only one other bidder and I did that really annoying but usually effective method of bidding at the last few seconds. I got it for pretty cheap too!

Picture is courtesy of the seller.

It's a vintage Tuxedo Sam plush from 1987 (before I was even born) and it looked like it was in pretty good condition. The tags are obviously gone but the official Sanrio smaller tag was still there, proving that it's genuine. I won and paid for it last night and it's already been shipped! Can't wait to get it!!

I also really want a Totoro bento box. It was weird because when I went to Japan, they had a some selections of bento boxes but none of the Totoro ones that I wanted. It was the same design that was sold everywhere and I wasn't too crazy about the look of it.

Not sure if I should get this one...

Or this one.

Although I have way too many iPhone cases (something that I promised myself that would never happen, huh), I desperately want this beautiful case!

Chirimen Goldfish Case

Not only does it totally upgrades your already sleek iPhone but it comes with a slot for you to put your cellphone charms! If there's one thing I don't like about the iPhone is that they don't have a slot for you to put your cellphone charms! HOW THE HELL CAN YOU DEPRIVE AN ASIAN OF THAT?!

Pink Version.

They also have the case in pink. I personally like the blue one better but it seems like everyone else I ask likes the pink better, even my sister's boyfriend. Do I just have weird tastes?

Oh, speaking of cellphone cases, I'm selling my rilakkuma sweets iPhone 4/4s case. I bought it because I thought it was adorable but then went to Japan and bought another case. It's never been used (I didn't even open it). It's a hard case and it'll make your iPhone really kawaii. It fits the iPhone 4 and the 4s. If anyone's interested, leave a comment with your contact details :)

BUY ME, RAWR!!!

Last but not least is this giant furry Pusheen plush! It's like 20" or something and so huge and cuddly! I love this but I can't justify paying $45 for it plus something like $15 shipping because I unfortunately (in this case) live above the American border.

I love you Pusheen.

I had the regular Pusheen plush on my previous wishlist and I ended up buying it but when it arrived, I was disappointed with it. The quality wasn't really that great, I mean it was still soft and cute but the stitches could be clearly seen and it looked a little deflated. It was as if not enough stuffing was put into it. I ended up selling it. When I have a bit of extra spending money, I might get it and hopefully, it won't disappoint this time.

So that's my kawaii wishlist for now, it'll probably change within a week or something since there's always so much kawaii and not enough money o(╥﹏╥)o. What's on your wishlist?

new kapibara-san rements!!!!

Guess what boys and girls, THERE'S A NEW KAPIBARASAN RE-MENT COMING OUT IN JUNE!!!!!!!!!!

Look at that little kapi table!

OMGBBQWTFTHISISTHEBESTDAYOFMYLIFE!

Kapibara-san Family Restaurant
Release Date: Mid June 2012
Price: 399 yen each
Line-up:
  1. Morning Set
  2. Kitsune Udon Set
  3. Omushichuu
  4. Sandwich
  5. Hamburger Set
  6. Oko-sama Set
  7. Katsu Gozen
  8. Purin ala mode

This is so exciting! This will be the second set of Kapibara-san re-ments, the first one were sweets and they were keychains. I made a post about them here. But these ones actually look like re-ments. I normally don't collect re-ments (the only ones I have are the kapi sweets ones) but I must have these!

Re-ment details.

Hm, it says that it's 399 yen each, which is about $5. It'll probably be cheaper for me to buy them while I'm in Japan this July instead of getting it here. Assuming that it's $40 for the whole set from J-list or Play-Asia, plus shipping which would be about $10 (which is freggin' expensive, I hate paying for shipping), the total would be about $50. When I'm in Japan, it'll be $5 x 8 = $40 so $10 cheaper. Damn, they're expensive. I'll probably end up getting them anyway, unless I spend all my money on kawaii plushies first.

Imagine having real food like this?

If I had to choose a favourite, I think it would be the Katsu Gozen, which is number 7. Number 2 and 6 are super adorable too though! Gah, they're all cute! This is why I need to get all of them. When in doubt, just buy all of them XD.

In other news, the wedding was fantastic! It was beautiful and I've never been to a wedding like that before (not that I've been to many to begin with). The weather was gorgeous, 22 Celsius, nice and warm but not hot. Unfortunately, I was stuck doing my CMA review for the better part of the day but left early so that I could get to the reception on time. It did cheer me up from all the issues that has been happening lately and I'm feeling fine now. Next post will be the wedding post, give you a break from my kawaii obsessions ;)

newest rilakkuma items

After seeing Mary's latest post about the new Shower/Bathroom Rilakkuma series, I totally fell in love with the Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori plush. I just wish that I could get a bigger picture of it but I can't seem to find the catalog in a bigger format (or without some store's watermark on it).

Shower/Bathroom series!

I especially love kiiroitori, check out the towel head and his adorable wrap-around towel! Korila is super adorable as well. They're both on my wishlist. Rila is...meh, once again, forever alone. I won't add that forever alone meme face since last time, it looked like crap due to my crappy Photoshop skills.

Not only do I want the plush, I'd love the small pencil case and the smaller wallet as well! I really like the design of it, the colour is just great. Pastel is really in this season.

Finally, I think that tote is really cute, although I don't think I'd buy it. I can never really justify paying $30 for a canvas tote. But it's super cute nonetheless.

What's this? Could it be that I'm actually starting to LIKE Rilakkuma and friends?! I'd like to think otherwise but from what I can see lately, it seems that I'm starting to change my mind a bit....

Oh! And I got 86 on my Strategy and Competition quiz. Yay! I honestly thought I failed.

rilakkuma limited edition happy picnic plushes

Despite not being a huge Rilakkuma fan, I couldn't help but fawn over the newest collection of limited editon picnic plushes!

Are they not simply kawaii!? I immediately fell in love with Kiiroitori, the chick. So short and stubby! I love short and fat animals, especially birds, that's probably why I love sparrows so much.

How can you not love this pudgy bird?

I wasn't sure whether I should get Korilakkuma and Rilakkuma as well though. After a little bit of debate, I decided to get the whole set. I rationalized that I could always sell Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma if I didn't end up liking them, someone was bound to buy them, especially since they're such popular characters.

After sending a quick e-mail to my buyer in Japan, she told me the price for each and (I'm assuming) that she'd be able to get them. Oh boy, there goes my budget for the next month.

On the San-x website, the rilakkuma one was already sold out! They were released last weekened and not surprisingly, they were all gone.

Rilakkuma Limited Edition Happy Picnic Plush.

I think what really makes them cute is their costumes, especially bear-shaped bun on their heads! Hopefully, my buyer will be able to find them for me and they won't cost an arm and a leg!
