cpa, cma results

As some of you know, I've been working towards getting my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (previously known as Certified Management Accountant - CMA. They changed in half way through my program).

Well, the letters were mailed out on Wednesday and I received mine on Thursday. My mom had called me during the day and told me the letter arrived. For the rest of the day, all I could think of was whether the letter offered congratulations or commiseration.

I was extremely tempted to just say, "Fuck this (work)" and head home to check my results. We passed or failed as a group and none of my team mates had informed me of our results. But I didn't want to know via them any way, I wanted to read the letter for myself.

Somehow, I managed to get through the work day and dashed to the kitchen when I got home, where my parents left the letter. Both my parents were in the living room and told me to hurry and open the letter.

Drumroll please.

I PASSED!!! ⁺✧.(˃̶ ॣ⌣ ॣ˂̶∗̀)ɞ⁾

I'm so happy I passed the program! 2 years of not having a life definitely paid off! Yeeeeeessssssss!!!!! I did a little happy dance and ran shrieking to my parents that I passed. Hugs were given and received and I was on cloud nine for the rest of the day (and still am).

Celebration Cocktail Party Invite

Included in the letter is an invitation to the celebration cocktail party on August 28th. I'm normally a big homebody but I think I'll make an exception and go celebrate with my classmates. I'm sure we're having going a smashing time, just like the people on the invite (except maybe not, because they scheduled it on a Thursday, people work the next day like yours truly).

Because I'm such a hedonist, I rewarded myself with a gift. I've been thinking of getting one of these for a long time but felt that I should get it when I feel like I've really deserved it. I don't think anything would be more self-satisfying than passing my program so I decided to treat myself to this Louis Vuitton key pouch.

Louis Vuitton Shopper Bag

To be honest, I'm surprised my city even has a LV shop seeing as our economy really sucks (it's the French laws) but I guess I shouldn't complain otherwise I would have to had ordered it online. For big purchases like this, I prefer to see it in store to see the quality and feel the texture before buying it.

My shopper bag's a little beat up because I had bought it after work and then went home on the metro and then bus with it, so it banged against my legs a couple of (hundred) times.

I pretended the key pouch was a gift so they'd wrap it all pretty for me. In a way, it is a gift (to myself).

Tah-dah! ♥~(‘▽^人)

I've had my eye on this key pouch for a while now and it's really rewarding to finally have it! It's called the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Key Pouch in Rose Angelique (Angelic Pink). Such a long name.

Description from the website:

"This Key Pouch in Monogram Vernis leather is extremely versatile, with room for keys, change and small papers."

The leather doesn't feel like leather, it's almost like someone put a layer of something over it to make it very smooth and glossy (I'm thinking of acrylic but I don't know if that's actually the right term?).

 Close Up

I really like the badge with the brand name over it. It's slightly different from the actual Louis Vuitton Logo but I find it makes a nice finishing touch. Naturally, the LV monograms and flowers are embossed in the leather.

Back View

On the back of the key pouch, there's a secondary pouch for you to slip your cards into. I probably won't be using it (unless the card is very thin) because I'd be worried about stretching it out permanently and it'd always look a little pouffed.

 Clasp & Stitching

The key ring is very well made (obviously for the price you're paying) and the clasp moves very smoothly and it doesn't feel like it'll be loosened after several uses. The stitching is obviously very good and it looks and feels like it won't unravel any time soon. A small LV logo is imprinted on the clasp.

That's what the key pouch looks like when it's opened. It doesn't look very big but it can actually stretch out quite a bit to accommodate a lot of cards and cash. You can also fit some keys into it if you want. If you look closely, you'll see the signature LV address embossed inside the key pouch.

Needless to say, I'm very happy with this purchase and with my results! All I have left to do before I can practice as a CPA is to get 4 more months of relevant work experience (which I can't get at my current job, unfortunately). Hopefully, I'll be able to find a new job soon so I can finally start practicing as a CPA!
