Awesome news for Rilakkuma fans! Since it's Rilakkuma's 10th birthday, San-x is really doing their best to make sure Rilakkuma fans are constantly broke. They're pretty much releasing new collections every month but these upcoming ones are just...celebratory and cute.
Rilakkuma Wonderland Series
Let's start off with the regular non-limited edition series. It's called Rilakkuma Wonderland (how fitting) and the theme seems to be royalty and celebrations (again, fitting).
If I know my Rilakkuma (which I don't, not really), they released a similar royalty collection for their 3rd birthday...or 5th. Anyway, I have a Korilakkuma plush from that collection and she's super cute.
Large Memos & Letter sets
I really like the carousel design for the small memo pads and the letter set. I probably won't get them though, I never write letters so my letter sets just collect dust and I have more than enough large memo pads (although that has never stopped me before).
Mini Memo Pads
I like the design of the first two, but there's still something about them that's putting me off. The second one is because there's just so much happening in the second one that it's a bit overwhelming. I'm not sure what exactly is bugging me about the carousel one though.
I definitely think the larger folders on the right are way too much. I can't even see what's happening in that picture while I'm making this post. The other two on the left are cute though.
I find this pretty cute, I don't think San-x had previously made a stationary box for any of their collections before so this is a bit refreshing from their usual products (although there isn't anything wrong with them). I'm not sure if the stationary is included in the box itself but for 1,300 yen, I should hope so. After you use all your stationary, you can use the box as a secret box, just leave it in the bookshelf and no one will be any wiser!
Pencils & Pens
I like the designs along the pen but I find the mascots too big for the pen. It seems like it would be a little hard to hold because the mascots are so huge.
Pencils & Pens
OMG! They play the freakin' drums! I am definitely getting one (or two) of these! How many pencils/pens do you have that has a drum playing bear on it? Thought so. Although I do wonder how the mechanics of that work? Do you just swing your pencil/pen around or it moves based on your writing movements?
I love the first paper clip so much, Rilakkuma looks adorable in his marching band uniform. The kiiroitori one is super cute too! I think the carousel ones are too much...
Will definitely be getting some of these sticker tins! I love the royalty ones, especially Kiirtori and the carousel one in the middle. I also really like the bottom left. Hopefully, these won't sell out super fast. I think each tin contains 10 stickers...or are they band-aids? Anyway, I find it hilarious that Google translated it to as "species".
Again, there's too much happening in both cases. I also don't like the way the carousel one looks in that shape. I think it would've looked much better if it was rectangular tin.
Makeup Pouch & Tissue Case
Teehee, what a cute tissue case.
Too much happening again, but I do like the design of the interior pouch in the tote.
This is very cute. At first, I thought it was just a decorative piece but you can unscrew the top and leave some of your valuables in it. I find the pink one looks better than the yellow.
I like the little carousel that's attached to them
Oh geez, these are so cute! But at about $15 a piece, it'll add up to $90 for the whole set! I would really love the Tuba Korilakkuma, she's so adorable! The feather on top of their hats looks so soft and fluffy.
So that concludes the regular Rilakkuma Wonderland series. These will be available on July 13th, 2013.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Rilakkuma collection without the exclusive items.
Each plush is 1,900 yen (about $20), which isn't bad at all in my opinion. I love love love the Kiiroitori one. I bet sellers in Japanese have already starting taking bids for helping oversea buyers. Should I get Kiiroitori?
Did anyone notice the 10 on the saddle?
Up and away!
Limited Edition Store Plush
Wait, there's more! Things just wouldn't be right without the store limited edition plushes. This set features Rilakkuma and the gang in the celebratory marching band uniform. Both Rilakkuma and Kiiroitori have the drums while it looks like Korilakkuma is leading the band with a super cute flag. Each plush has a mini Rilakkuma hanging on.
These will be released on July 13th at 1,600 yen (about $18) each. They're cute but not my cup of tea. That's one less thing to stress over.
Celebratory Float Plushes
Last but not least are the big daddies of the Rilakkuma celebration. Each plush is supposed to represent a float to celebrate 10 years of Rilakkuma and all its kawaii glory. Each float has mini versions of themselves.
They're so freakin' cute! As all of you know, I'm not crazy about Rilakkuma but I love this set! But guess how much this will set you back? 12,000 yen, about $120! Obviously, you can't buy them separately, you have to get all three of them.
I can't decide which one is my favourite, Rilakkuma's or Kiiroitori's. I'm on the fence about getting these but I probably won't end up getting them, probably going to cost an arm and a leg to ship them to me. These are schedule to release on July 13, 2013 as well. So everything is going to be released at once. I can imagine the chaos in the Rilakkuma Stores already.
So is your wallet going to bleed?
