finding kawaii treasures

You're probably all tired of staring at my Sasa haul (as awesome as it is) so I've decided to make a post about some of my backlogged kawaii that's in need of some attention. Two of my long awaited plushes finally arrived on Wednesday and I've selected some of my kawaii to be featured in today's post.

This post features Pom Pom Purin, Aho-chan, Tuxedo Sam & Beh

I had noticed this adorable little kitten and his friends when I was really young. I didn't know the name of this character nor did I really care that it was a Japanese brand (which kid does? I can't even remember what I had of this line). When I saw this adorable cat for sale, I bought it without looking at the price.

When it arrived, I was thrilled to see how big, soft and CUTE it was. LOOK AT IT! How can you put a price on kawaiiness and childhood memories?

Awwww!  (´ ▽`).。o♡

The line is called Tama & Friends, which used to be a TV show for kids. My cutie black cat's name is Beh. Not a really impressive name though. Beh the Black Cat. But he's so cute so who cares. He's extremely soft as well but since his head is way bigger than it's body and he's in sitting position, it makes it awkward to cuddle with.

Cute Little Paw Print

On his two back paws, they've pasted paw prints which is always a nice touch.

WHO WOULD HURT THIS KITTY!?

He has a bandage on the back of his head, I hope no one abused this kitty. I added the pink bow myself. I don't know why, it was lying around in my room and I was sick of it being in my way all the time so I just tied it to Beh's neck. Now he's pretty and cute  ヾ(@^▽^@)ノ

Tag.

Like all Japanese tags, it's cute and interesting. There's the main cast of Tama & Friends.

Inside Tag.

Inside is the complete cast of Tama & Friends. I still have no clue which one is Tama though, but I'd have to guess it's the one that's playing with the dog. That bulldog looks funny.

Aho-Chan the Axolotl.

I've seen these axolotl plushes for a while and I've been searching EVERYWHERE for them! On the rare occasion that I would find them for sale online, they were sold out! I didn't even see these when I was Japan and I knew they were UFO catcher prizes (probably from like a million years ago). I whined about the impossibility of finding this character (who I didn't know was called Aho-chan, I just kept googling axolotl plush) to my friend Caitlin and thanks to her super awesome kawaii researching skills, she found them for me.

Kissy Kissy (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

When they finally arrived, it was as if the angels were singing sweet hallelujahs and the sun was shining on the box, creating a halo around it. I ripped open the box like an animal and dug out my Aho-chans. They were a lot bigger than I expected but lived up to their kawaiiness.

Official Picture.

Don't they look so tiny in the manufacture's picture? They might actually be keychain sizes in that picture but the ones I got would make giant keychains. Maybe keychains for giants.

Tag

The tags were a little beaten up but who cares when you finally get your hands on your long-sought-after kawaii. I'd take a beaten up tag any day.

I ordered a bunch of extra ones for sale but all of them are sold except for one. I still have an orange closed-eyed Aho-chan left. If interested, either check my shop or e-mail me.

Fuzzy Pom Pom Purin & Tuxedo Sam Plushes

These were my long awaited plush. I had actually asked a friend to order them from Japan for me. A year later, they finally arrived ╮(─▽─)╭.

Pom Pom Purin

I'm disappointed with the Purin plush. It looked a lot cuter in the catalog and I was expecting it to be a bit...rounder and more stuffed. It's still very cute but there's nothing worse than waiting a long time for something, only to have it fall short of your expectations. His hands are also magnets, which I didn't know they were going to be.

Tuxedo Sam

I totally love the Tuxedo Sam! This definitely lived up to my expectations and he's even cuter in person. I love the adorable curliness of his fur. I'm really happy with this one.

Curly!

Both these plushes are only available for purchase in Japan and I'm very grateful and happy my friend ordered them for me, even if it did take a year. Their uniqueness and rarity is a definite bonus to my kawaii collection (・∀・).

Which item is your favourite? Have you ever found something you've been searching forever for?

Again, for those of you who are just checking my site, I've opened up my an e-store that sells lots of authentic kawaii including Rilakkuma, Kapibara-san, Arpakassos among many others. I'm obviously not going to stop talking about it until more people check it out so just tell me you did and I'll stop bothering you guys to look at it.

Aaaaaaaand, Smells Like Sushi now has a FB page, yay! It's about time I made one, it's not pretty yet but it will be soon so like it (≧▽≦)
