 I mentioned several months ago in a previous post about my love for Nagomimakuri and how it all started. For those of you who didn't read it, it was my Gong Gong (grandfather) who bought me my first Nago and it's the only tangible item he ever bought me. For this reason, this character has great sentimental value to me.

back from australia and some news

Hey everyone so I arrived home from Australia on November 21st. Australia is beautiful with gorgeous weather and it was just a breath of fresh air. For 3 weeks, I didn't think about work and was completely stress free!

I'll be making a few individual posts about my Australia trip but here's a little sneak peak of the beautiful country (in no particular order).

sailor moon banpresto compact mirrors

Back in July, I had ordered the compact mirrors released by Banpresto to celebrate Sailor Moon's 20th anniversary.

I actually only wanted one of them (ok two) and you got more a of a bargain if you bought all three. I thought that I'd be able to sell the one(s) rather easily but it turns out, not to much ⊙︿⊙

At first, I had planned on keeping the Luna and Artermis one but the more I looked at the mirrors, the more I like the Queen Serenity one! So I had planned on keeping two but I already have so much stuff so in the end, I settled for just Queen Serenity. A small success story of me trying to declutter my life a bit.

I went to our local anime convention again this year, like I have been doing for the past 2 years with my good friend Suzy. I normally buy a weekend pass and let my sister use it (sssshhhhhh) when I'm done going to the con but this year, my family went to NYC for a few days so I'm the only one going.

Like last year, I put myself on a budget  and I toured the whole seller's area before decided on what to buy. I'm super happy with all my purchases!

cpa, cma results

As some of you know, I've been working towards getting my Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation (previously known as Certified Management Accountant - CMA. They changed in half way through my program).

Well, the letters were mailed out on Wednesday and I received mine on Thursday. My mom had called me during the day and told me the letter arrived. For the rest of the day, all I could think of was whether the letter offered congratulations or commiseration.

Small post today, but I just found out that San-x made a mini line of travel accessories. I love the little see-through pouches and those compact mirrors are to die for. The compact toothbrush is a nifty idea but I always bring whatever toothbrush I'm currently using and just put it in a zip-lock bag, nothing fancy but I don't see the point of taking a brand new toothbrush for just travelling. It'll take me years to completely use it up (and it'd probably stink).

tentario kickstart project

Hi everyone! So just a really short post but inky drop is raising money to make these adorable plush. They're called Tentario! It features Ika the Squid, Jellyblub the Jellyfish and Sweetoof the Octopus. She's also trying to raise funds for an adorable narwhale called Starwhal.

Depending on how much you pledge, you'll get rewards. I personally pledged $25 so I'll get the Ika plush along with a sticker but also a lot of additional freebies because of the large support she's been getting. There's less 3 days left so let's help inky drop out!

Just to let everyone know, I haven't forgotten about my blog! My professional program is almost over (my presentation is on June 8th in the AM) and I'll have a million things to post about. Please continue to be patient with me, I'll guarantee it'll be worth it!

When I learned from Faith's post that another line of Sumikko Gurashi is going to be released, I almost wet my pants.

Sumikko Gurashi has quickly become one of my favourite San-x characters because they're all so cute and unusual. I'm so happy that San-x is deciding to make this group of characters one of their central characters (at least that's what it looks like so far).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm late for both but in addition to my usual excuses, I have one that's pretty legitimate. I was without internet since December 16th and only got it back on December 31st. Our modem broke and our internet provider had to send us a new one and was going to upgrade the service to optic fibre at the same time. But with the holidays and everything, it took FOREVER. Needless to say my family was pissed but I had internet at work and at Alex's house so it wasn't too bad. Plus, you get used to not having internet and my siblings and I actually spoke to each other and had a lot of "family time" together, meaning we watched TV and just made plans to do things, which we never really did...ever.
